Donated items do not have to be complete, he said, as the components are very useful in the fabrication a new prosthesis.
Sedlak plans to send out periodic shipments of used prosthetics to different organizations working on Haitian relief.
The donations can be tax deductible as well. The person making the donation just has to send along a note along with the prosthesis that includes his or her name and contact information, so a receipt can provided.
Anyone with a prosthetic donation is asked to send them to Prosthetic HealthCare Services, Attn. Jim Sedlak, CP, 3811 29th Ave., Suite 4, Kearney NE 68845.
For more information, call Sedlak at (877) 338-3162.
