He was born in Hayes County to Glen and Wretha (Wilson) Scott, and graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1949.
He was a Boeing paint shop manager until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, LaVerna Scott of Emporia; his children, Beth Scott of Atlanta, Ga., Vicki and husband, Richard Hatfield of Emporia, and Lee Scott of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Glora Clark of McCook and Vira Colson of Kimball; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Jan. 5, at Americus Southern Baptist Church.

Smith Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
