ARAPAHOE -- Paula Lynne Deisley, 37, died Thursday (Dec. 31, 2009), at Cambridge Hospital, in Cambridge.

She was born Aug.15, 1972, at Lincoln, to Wayne and Marilyn (Andreesen) Koehler. She grew up in Funk and Bern, Kan., before moving to Bruning. She was baptized at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wymore, in September 1972 and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning, in May 1985. She graduated from Bruning High School with the class of 1990. She went on to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and was Choir Director for the Student Lutheran Center. In 1995, she graduated with a degree in music education. She then taught Kindergarten thru 12th grade vocal and instrumental music at Giltner Public Schools in Giltner, for 11 years.

On June 20, 1998, she married Chad R. Deisley at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning. She received her Masters in Educational Administration from University of Nebraska in Kearney in 2005. In 2006 they moved to Arapahoe, and she became the fifth through 12th grade instrumental music teacher at Arapahoe Public Schools.

She was a member of the Music Educators Association, Nebraska Educators Association, and First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Tobias and Gertrude Andreesen

Survivors include her husband Chad Deisley and children Morgan and Tanner Deisley of Arapahoe; her parents, Wayne and Marilyn Koehler of Humboldt; father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Sherry Deisley of Minden; brothers, Jeffrey and wife, Ami Koehler, and Jayse, Jordan, and Brody of Maywood, and Matthew Koehler of Shickley; sister, Jennifer Koehler of Nebraska City; brother-in-law, Mitchell and wife Jill Deisley of Lincoln; and grandparents, Wilber and wife, Iona Koehler of Humboldt.

Local funeral services were Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, with the Rev. Michael Flury officiating. Humboldt funeral services were today at the St. James Long Branch Lutheran Church with burial following at the St. James Cemetery.
