McDONALD -- Gene A. Mears, 83, died Thursday (Dec. 10, 2009).

He was born April 6, 1926, in Cheyenne County, Kan.

Survivors include his wife, Carol J. (Antholz) Mears of McDonald; his son Keavin Mears of Topeka, Kan.; his daughter Monica Johnsen of Imperial; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Federated Church in McDonald. Burial to follow at Grace Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, 1 - 7 p.m. at Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis.

Memorials may be given to Billy Graham Crusade, Tom Dorsch, Campus Crusade for Christ, or of your choice.

Knodel Funeral Home of St. Francis is in charge of the arrangements.
