SEDALIA, Mo. -- Edward Nathaniel Ady, 84, died Nov. 19, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo.
He was born June 9, 1925, at Imperial, to Marion James and Frances (Lentz) Ady.
On Dec. 10, 1942, he married Evelyn D. Bunnell. She preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 2007.
He served with the engineers in the U.S. Army during World War II and was engaged in the D-Day activities at Omaha Beach.
He was an auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; and a son, Edward J. Ady.
Survivors include a son, Edwin "Willie" Ady of Sedalia; a daughter, Janette and husband, John Craig of Shawnee, Kan.; a grandson; two great-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter.
The funeral service was Nov. 23, 2009, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with the Rev. John Craig II officiating. Burial followed at Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery in Sedalia.
