Councilman Jerry Calvin pulled the items from the consent agenda and stated he would not be voting as he works for Pepsi-Cola company and supplies pop to the concession stands.
Two bids were received for concessions at Felling Field, the high bid from Nancy Collins at $826 per year and the other bid from James Pleinis at $800 per year.
The concessions for the ballparks are bid every three years.
The McCook City Council unanimously awarded the bid to Collins.
For the Jaycees Ball Complex, the city received one bid and the council awarded the bid to Jamie Mockry of Consolidated Management Services at $1,525.
Consolidated Management has operated concessions at the Jaycees ballpark for the past three years.
Other consent agenda items the council approved Monday night include:
* the automatic renewal of the 25 current retail liquor licenses at businesses/restaurants in the city for 2010
* ratify the mayor's appointment of Cloyd Clark to the Community Authority Advisory Board, to fill the remaining term of Randall Datus, which expires November 2012. Datus moved to Hastings.
* adopt a resolution that continues the appointment of Councilman Lonnie Anderson as the city's automatic director and the appointment of Councilman Calvin as the city's ex-officio director, to the McCook Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors. Both positions have voting privileges.
* as a housekeeping item, approve a supplemental agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads, concerning the completion of the first phase of the Kelley Park Walking Trail. This part of the trail has already been completed but during a review of the project, it was discovered that a supplemental agreement had not been created extending the completion date.
