CAMBRIDGE -- Donald William "Don" Proud, 66, died Thursday (Dec. 3, 2009), on his farm.
He was born Sept. 28, 1943, at Cambridge to Lloyd and Ruby (Wetbright) Proud. He attended rural school later graduating from Cambridge High School in 1961. He joined the National Guard serving from 1964 to 1970. He returned to the family farm.
On Sept. 28, 1985, he married to Martha (Brown) Jones. She preceded him in death May 22, 2001.
He was a member of the Cambridge American Legion Post.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Martha.
Survivors include two step-sons, Mike and wife, Anita Jones of Curtis, and Mark and wife, Vivkie Jones of Cambridge; and four grand children.
A gathering will take place at the Cross Creek club house at 11 a.m., Saturday.
Friends are asked to attend to celebrate his life.
Memorials may be left in his name to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
Lockenour-Jones Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
