BARTLEY -- Jimmy "Jim" Webb, 73, died Wednesday (Dec. 2, 2009), at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born April 9, 1936, in Phoenix, Ariz., to James and Catherine (Hill) Webb.
On May 26, 1952, he married Shirley Atkinson in Raton, N.M. He worked in the oil fields all his life. The family spent most of their early lives in and around Borger, Texas, moving to Bartley in 1966. In August of 1978, he branched out on his own and started Webb's Water Truck Service.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of McCook.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Wanda June Webb; and one brother, Robert Webb.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of Bartley; three sons: Roger and wife, Peggy of Billings, Mont., Mark and wife, Kathy of Meade, Colo., and Dan and wife Shelly, of Bartley; one sister, Bobbi Lewis of Ardmore, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Cambridge with Bill Weaver officiating. Burial will be at the Bartley Cemetery.
The casket will be open to the family only.
Memorial may be made at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary to the American Diabetes' Foundation.
