BENKELMAN -- Louise Lena (Warning) Bolio, 88, died Wednesday (Nov. 25, 2009), at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman.
She was born Oct 19, 1921, at Max, Neb., to William and Myrtle (Ray) Warning.
On Oct. 26, 1938, she married Frank Bolio at Atwood, Kan. To this union 8 children were born; Eileen Larae, Joyce Darlene, Marian Irene, Franklin William, John Ransom, Hazel Christine, Thomas Allen, and Helen Lorene. They made their home at various farmsteads around the Gorthy Ranch in Cheyenne County, Kan.
After Frank passed away, she moved her family to Benkelman. She worked at a couple of restaurants in Benkelman and following the death of her mother she began to deal with her own health issues, and she went to the Pawnee Hotel in North Platte, Neb., for care. She spent eight years there and was then transferred to the Hester Home in Benkelman where she spent the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three infant daughters; and one grandson, Jerry Clark.
Survivors include her sons, Frank Bolio of St. Francis, Kan., John Bolio and Thomas Bolio of Benkelman, Neb., daughters, Hazel Clark and husband, Larry of Benkelman, Neb., Helen Jones and husband, Jim of Cheyenne, Wyo., 10 Grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The memorial service was today at Trinity Baptist Church in Benkelman with Dorey Hansen officiating. Services concluded at the church.
The family will gather for a private inurnment at a later time when she will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Benkelman Cemetery.
There was no visitation or viewing.
A memorial has been established in her name.
