CULBERTSON -- Marlus I. Binderup died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at her home in Culbertson. She was 74 years old.
On Dec. 14, 1934, she was born in Culbertson to Floyd and Florence (Thayer) McCollum. She attended Culbertson High School and lived in the Culbertson area all her life.
She married Keith Chambers in Culbertson, June 13, 1959. He passed away September 1973. She married Bruce Allen Binderup in Reno, Nevada on June 6, 1977. He passed away in April 1986.
Through the years, Marlus worked at McCook National Bank, First National Bank and then was a bookkeeper for Hagan & Sons until her retirement.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, several card and birthday clubs.
Marlus loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles and reading books.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Keith Chambers and Bruce Binderup and a brother Richard McCollum.
Survivors include her children, Dennis and wife, Dana Chambers and Deb and husband, Bob Henthorn all of Culbertson; one granddaughter, Kelley Clapp, four grandsons, Kyle and Kris Clapp, Levi and Brody Lucero and two great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Ashton.
Memorials are being accepted in her name.
Visitation will be Monday until 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Friends and family may also leave condolences on-line at www.carpenterbreland.com.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Corey Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
