LONGMONT, Colo. -- Virginia Frasier, 96, died Nov. 4, 2009. at Applewood Living Center in Longmont, Colo.
She was born Sept. 23, 1913, to Conrad and Catherine (Schafer) Amen Jr. in Hastings, Neb. She married Robert M. Frasier April 17, 1934.
In 1946 "Ginny" and "Bob" moved from Hastings to McCook where they raised four children. She worked at JC Penney's for 25 years prior to retiring in 1976 when they moved to Longmont, Colo.
After Bob's death in 1979 she moved to Hover Manor, a retirement community where she lived for 24 years. There she was involved in many activities, especially those requiring a fiesty participant. She loved music and singing and in the 1980s directed a chorus known as "The Hoverettes plus 3" which performed at various church and business functions as well as entertaining holidays at Hover Manor.
Virginia was a member of Long's Peak United Methodist Church and cherished her friendships, the one with her daughter, Marianne being most special. She spoke often of fond memories of those in McCook.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; two brothers; three nieces; grandsons, James Frasier and Mark Frasier; and a daughter in-law.
She is survived by sons, William Frasier, McCook, Kenneth Frasier and his wife, Barbara of Kearney, Neb.. daughters, Marianne Stephens of Longmont, Colo., and Sandra Patterson and her husband, Jerry of Hayes Center, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and four nieces.
Per her wishes, cremation was entrusted to Howe Mortuary with graveside services for family members only at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
