NORCATUR, Kan. -- Terri James, 52, died Thursday (Oct. 15, 2009) at her home in Norcatur, Kan.
She was born Dec. 7, 1956, in Oberlin to Willard and Willa (Cummings) Stapleton. She grew up in Oberlin attended Oberlin Elementary School and Decatur Community High School graduating in 1974.
On April 1, 1978, she married Larry James in Oberlin. She was a homemaker. They lived in Oberlin until 1992, when they moved to Norcatur.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Norcatur Library Board, Norcatur United Methodist Church and Oberlin American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Stapleton and two brothers, Willard Stapleton Jr. and Eric Allen Stapleton.
Survivors include her husband, Larry of Norcatur; mother, Willa and husband, Darrell Carlton of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; sons, Matthew and wife, Jamie James of North Platte and Sgt. Russell and wife, Karyn James of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services were today at 2 p.m., at Norcatur United Methodist Church in Norcatur with the Rev. Larry Danforth officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given in her name.
