OBERLIN -- Keith M. Sauvage, 83, died Saturday (Oct. 3, 2009) at his home in Oberlin.
He was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Oberlin to Walter and Opal (Macy) Sauvage. He grew up in Oberlin and attended Oberlin Elementary and Decatur Community High School. He entered the services and served with the U.S. Navy Seabees, 3rd class.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 708 and V.F.W. Post No. 1368.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Opal Sauvage and son-in-law, Norman Stockham.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine of Oberlin; sons, Bill and friend, Pat and Michael and wife, Cheryl, all of Oberlin and John and wife, Donna of Selden; daughters, Trudy Stockham of Norton, Kan., and Joan and husband, Mike McKenna of Jennings; brother, Ward Sauvage of Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. James Jennings officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Decatur Health Systems or American Legion Post No. 70.
