Zelpa Ilene Scott of Hayes Center, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte. She was 89.
Zelpha was born on Dec. 1, 1919, to Frank William and Charlotte "Lottie" Esther (Fornoff) Snoke in Hayes Center. She spent a lifetime on the family farm in the Eddy community and she loved to farm and do crafts such as crocheting and making quilts. She enjoyed music and flowers.
She married John W. Scott on Aug. 28, 1937, at St. Francis, Kan.
She was a member of Union Congregational Church in Hayes Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lottie; husband, John Scott on Dec. 10, 1975; infant son; and grandson, Stephen "Steve" Scott.
She is survived by her two sons, Alfred Scott of Council Bluffs, and Dean Scott of Hayes Center; sisters, Edna Marie Sandman of Wauneta and Charlotte Odom of Picquane, Miss.; three grandchildren, Lisa Scott of Omaha, John Scott of Council Bluffs, Larry Scott of Greeley, Colo.; and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Funeral services are Monday Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at Union Congregational United Church of Church in Hayes Center with Pastor Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in the Hayes Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
