CURTIS -- Leroy Roudebush, 85, died Monday (Sept. 21, 2009) at his home in Curtis.
He was born July 9, 1924, to James and Erma (Franklin) Roudebush at Rushville, Ill. He attended and graduated from Rushville High School in 1943.
He worked as a rural mail carrier for Curtis Post office. On Jan. 21, 1977, he married DeVona Cole at the United Methodist Church in Curtis.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 95, Fraternal Order of the Elks, Rural Letter Carriers Association, Methodist Men and the United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, M. Arylene Roudebush; three brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, DeVona; children, Fred and wife, Lanita Roudebush of Aiea, Hawaii, Janice and husband, Jerry Jurgens of North Platte, Kathy and husband, Ron Ruppert of McCook, Susan and husband, Morgan Baethke of LaCona, Iowa, Karen and husband, Frank Medo of California, and Bill and wife, Teri Kleinow of North Platte; sisters, Jenny and Rosie; sister-in-law, Edna Roudebush; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., on Monday at First United Methodist Church in Curtis. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., at Fort McPherson National Cemetery south of Maxwell.
