Teen killed, two injured in accident

NORTH PLATTE -- An 18-year-old McCook woman died in a one-vehicle roll-over accident at 10:50 p.m. Thursday south of North Platte near Lake Maloney.

Amy J. Stone of McCook was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Shannon Fune, 19, of McCook, one of two passengers, is listed in critical condition at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was diagnosed with a broken neck, broken left arm and broken right foot.

A second passenger, Kyle Rollenhagan, 19, of North Platte, was treated for a broken back at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte and released.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Stone was southbound on U.S. Highway 83 and lost control. The car rolled multiple times and Stone was ejected.

According the report, alcohol and drug consumption were suspected to be major factors in the crash.

None of the occupants was wearing a seatbelt.

Funeral services for Stone are pending with Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook.

I am so sorry about this young girls life. The teenagers need to take a look at some of these lives that are being taken. Need to stop and think about what you are doing every time you do the drugs and drinking and driving. As well as alot of older adults to. People should begin to get it someday what happens and can happen to them as well as the ones in the car with you.
