The McCook Bison girls golf team won the McCook Invitational golf meet at Heritage Hills in McCook Friday.

Allie Exstrom of Minden won top individual honors with a 47-45-92.

"I knew that we had a bunch of skills and we are so young that I was afraid that we wouldn't be able to utlize them," said McCook head coach Randy Ryser.

"Each one of the kids had a hole or two that they got in a little trouble on, each came out of it and made a good score.

"I think maybe this will be a true team.

"We're not going to have anyone go really low but we are going to have kids play well and that makes a good team score.

"We played pretty well from top to bottom and probably should give a gold star to everyone that teed up.

"We have never placed five girls in the top ten at a big meet."

McCook junior Shelby Allen shot 45-50 for a 95 and third place.

Sophomore Megan Rokusek finished fourth with a round of 47-49-96.

Senior Alex Trew placed sixth, shooting 51-46-97.

Freshmen Kaylee Samway placed eighth place with a 53-48-101 and Jacqui Hager ninth, 55-55-110.

The Bison will travel to Sidney Thursday for the Sidney Invitational starting at 9 a.m. MT.
