The family Richard and Marjorie (Shields) McMurtry, formerly of McCook of Lincoln is hosting an open house and card shower in honor of the couple's 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 23, 1959, in McCook. Children of the couple are Clark and wife, Monica McMurtry of Brookshire, Texas, Cheryl McMurtry of Lincoln, Keith and wife, Becky McMurtry of LaVista and Lori and husband, Don Hilligoss of Olathe, Kan. They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. The open house will be Sunday, Aug. 23, from 11:45 a.m. - 2 p.m., at Southview Christian Church in Lincoln.
