Norton went down in order in the top of the first inning.
McCook scored its first run of the game when Gavin Harsh stole home in the bottom of the first.
Norton had runners on the corners with one out in the second but could not advance them. McCook was able to get a runner to third but that was all.
In the third, Norton went down 1-2-3. Keegan Williams started McCook off with a double and eventually stole home for second run of the game.
Norton took advantage of four McCook errors and had some key hits in the fourth to score four runs. McCook left one runner on base in the fourth.
Neither team would score the rest of the game. McCook had base runners on second and third in the fifth and sixth but could not get them in.
Norton pitcher Dalton Miller recorded 10 strikeouts and brought the heat all night long. Drew Bredvick recorded eight strikeouts for McCook.
Keegan Williams doubled and singled for McCook. James Kain singled.
McCook will play Colby in its final home game on Friday. The first game starts at 6 pm.
Saturday, the Reds travel to Maywood to play Frontier County in a doubleheader at 6 p.m.
The Reds will finish their season on Sunday with two games in Gothenburg. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
