Crick qualifies for Public Links

LINCOLN -- For the second consecutive year Brandon Crick has qualified for the U.S. Amateur Public Links.

He qualified Monday by shooting a 36-hole, 4-under-par 140 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln. He outdistanced the field by seven strokes.

Wes Kosch of Omaha was named the first alternate with a score of 147.

Last year Crick traveled to Aurora, Colo., to participate at Murphy Creek Golf Club. He tied for 4th in the qualifying and was named the number six seed.

He was eliminated in the first round of the match play on the 20th hole by the eventual runner-up.

This year, the event will take place July 13-18 at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
