McCook man wins $100,000 Wild 10s Prize

LINCOLN, Neb. -- John McRae of McCook won $100,000 playing the $10 Scratch game Wild 10's from the Nebraska Lottery.

McRae purchased his winning Wild 10's ticket at Casey's General Store, 704 West B Street in McCook. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $100,000.

There are two $100,000 top prizes available in Wild 10's. McRae is the first person to win a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on June 4, McRae told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was "pretty happy" to win the $100,000 prize. "This is the first time I've ever won something this big," he said. McRae plans to pay bills and purchase a new truck using his winnings.

Wild 10's is a $10 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1,698,000 in cash prizes from $10 to $100,000. The odds of winning $100,000 playing Wild 10's are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.22.

The mission of the Nebraska Lottery is to generate proceeds for good causes while providing quality entertainment options to Nebraskans. Over $341 million has been raised for the Nebraska Lottery's beneficiary funds since the Lottery began in 1993.
