LINCOLN -- Elsie Boucher, 90, of Lincoln, Neb., (formerly of Columbus, Neb.) died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Neb.
Services will be Monday, June 8, 2009, at 1:30 p.m., at the First Christian Church in Kearney, Neb., with Pastor Lew Champ officiating.
Private family interment will be in the Overton Cemetery, Overton, Neb., prior to services. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the family choice.
Elsie Boucher was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Culbertson, Neb., to Alexander R. and Bertha (Wittwer) Haining. She graduated from Culbertson High School and on Sept. 5, 1937, married Dale Boucher of Kearney, Neb., at the Stone Church in Culbertson. They made their home in Kearney where Elsie served as church secretary for the First Christian Church. She was also active in the church choir. She was well known for her unyielding friendship, faith and family values. She loved genealogy and helped to organize numerous family reunions.
Elsie is survived by son, Terry (Pat) Boucher of Littleton, Colo., son, John (Carol) Boucher of Lincoln, Neb., son, Bill (Sheri) Boucher of Columbus, Neb.; six grandchildren, Susan (Greg) Calhoun of Littleton, Colo., Cindy (David) Feilmeier of Aurora, Colo., and Kelly (Mark) Lindsay, Sarah (James) Schweers, Becky Boucher and Rhonda Wescott, and Bill Boucher all of Lincoln, Neb.; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Calhoun of Littleton, Colo., Jessica and Amanda Feilmeier of Aurora, Colo., and Samuel Lindsay; Taylor, Jayden and Madison Schweers, and Jazzmyn Boucher all of Lincoln, Neb.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Bertha Haining; her husband, Dale Boucher; a brother, Lester (Adina) Haining; sisters, Hazel Haining and Roberta (Ray) Drain; half-brothers, John (Clara) Haining and Warren Haining; half-sisters, Zola (Orville) Clary, Mabel (Alfred) Edwards, and Ethel (Dale) Crown.
