HERMANTOWN, Minn. -- Laura Jean Johnson of Saginaw, Minn., and Andrew Michael Nielsen, formerly of McCook, of Blaine, Minn., were married Nov. 1, 2008, at Peace In Christ Lutheran Church in Hermantown, Minn., with the Rev. Timothy Ludwig officiating.

Parents of the couple are Marvin and Martha Johnson of Saginaw and Dr. Michael and Linda Nielsen of McCook.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Richard Nielsen of McCook and Clara Hector of Humboldt.

The bridegroom's parents are hosting an open house reception for the couple on Saturday May 16, from 5 - 9 p.m., at the Republican Valley Event Center -- Lower East Level. Everyone who knows or has known Andy or the Nielsen family is welcome to come and celebrate.

Kristin Johnson, sister of the bride, of Saginaw was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeanna Aldridge of Duluth, Minn., Sarah Bosch of Minneapolis, Minn., and Rachel Armstrong of Madison, Wis.

Tim Adams of Eleva, Wis., served as the bestman. Bridegroomsmen were Guang Zhang, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Plymouth, Minn., Brad Hill of Richfield, Minn., and Buz Oyster of Centennial, Colo.

Lauryn Stanley, niece of the bridegroom, of Big Springs was the flower girl. Ushers were David Johnson, brother of bride, of Saginaw, Rob Stanley, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Big Springs and Steven Chonka, cousin of the bridegroom, of Golden, Colo.

A reception was at Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center in Duluth. The reception was in the DECC's Harbor Side Ballroom which overlooks the Duluth harbor and Duluth's trademark Aerial Lift Bridge.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Proctor Senior High School in Proctor, Minn., and is a 2004 graduate St Cloud State University in St Cloud, Minn., with a Bachelor's of Science degree in meteorology. She was working as the lead materials and process laboratory technician at Cirrus Design Corporation (an aircraft manufacturer) in Duluth, before moving to Blaine, Minn.

The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of McCook Senior High School, a 1998 graduate of McCook Community College with an associate's degree and a 2001 graduate University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D., with a Bachelors of Aerospace degree in commercial avaition along with his flight instructor and instrument instructor certificates, and his commercial single engine and multi-engine ratings.

He is employed as a freight pilot for Pro Aire Cargo and Consulting of OshKosh, Wis., and is based out of the Anoka County airport in Blaine.

The couple honeymooned in the Rivera Maya/Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, before making their home in Blaine a northern suburb of the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area.
