KEARNEY -- A former McCook man died Wednesday of injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle accident in North Platte early Saturday morning.

Services for Derek Gregory Bodeman, 27, of North Platte, are pending with Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.

Bodeman is a 2001 graduate of McCook Senior High. He is the son of Becky Bodeman of McCook and Kirk Bodeman of North Platte.

Bodeman was seriously injured when his pickup and another driven by Brandon Thiem, 16, of North Platte, collided at 12:42 a.m., Saturday, as Bodeman pulled out of a parking lot at 2221 E. Fourth. Bodeman was thrown from his pickup.

Bodeman was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, where he died Wednesday. North Platte Police Sgt. Steve Reeves told the North Platte Telegraph that Thiem and his passenger, Dominic Craft, 15, were also injured.

Reeves said that none of the three involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt.
