New staff on school board agenda

The board of the McCook Public Schools will be asked to approve contracts for two new teachers at its regular meeting Monday.

Meeting at 6 p.m. in the Junior High Conference Room, the board will be asked to approve a contract for Jeffrey K. Ellis as senior high physical education and girls basketball coach, and a contract for Deb Goodenberger as an art teacher.

In other new business, the board will be asked to approve a trip by FFA and agriculture students to attend the national convention in Indianapolis in October, adopt newly revised Nebraska Language Arts Standards as approved by the Nebraska State Board of Education, and approve an Inter Local Cooperation Act agreement with various city organizations.

Other items include recognition of Austin Larson as student member of the board of education, and reports from the finance and negotiations committee and from Maury Green and Scott Johnson on a liason meeting with McCook Elementary Teachers.
