NORCATUR, Kan. -- Marguerite M. Clark, 94, died Monday (May 4, 2009) in Oberlin.
She was born Aug. 3, 1914, in Plattsburg, Mo., to Orville and Leona (McCoy) Wade. She grew up in the Long Brand District near Norcatur and attended the Norcatur Rural School System, graduating in 1932.
On Aug. 5, 1934, she married Walter Vey Clark. They lived in Norcatur and Norton, Kan., before moving to Denver, Colo., in 1940.
They then moved to Pasadena, Calif., in 1942 and to Yucalpa, Calif., in 1977. She was a Grayhound Bus Depot Manager and worked for the Burbank, Calif., Travel Bureau. They returned to Norcatur in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Leona Wade, husband, Walter and brother, Kenneth Wade.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Barbara Clark of Clay Center, Kan., and Kathleen Scott of Idaho Falls, Idaho and nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., in the Norcatur Cemetery with Brother John Paulson officiating.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.
Memorials may be given to the Norcatur Cemetery Fund or Norcatur News Sheet.
