BERTRAND -- Dorothy A. Vise, 76, died Saturday (May 2, 2009) at Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand.
She was born in Naponee on May 23, 1932, to Carl and Florance (Geen) Klinzmann. She attended country school.
On July 30, 1948, she married Robert A. Vise. The couple made their home in the Wilsonville area farming for many years. They had lived in Beaver City, Palisade and Holdrege for the past 40 years. They moved to Bertrand in March of 2009, to be in the assisted living facility.
She was known as a professional quilter, she had quilts throughout the United States. She had worked with the social services department for 14 years in Palisade and was a cook at the Danbury School. She was also a Girl Scout leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert and sister-in-law, Phyllis Klinzmann.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Bertrand, three daughters, Judy and husband, Danial Conley of Kerrville, Texas, Barbara and husband, Ray Stewart of Holdrege and Cathy and husband, John Blum of Huntley; one brother, Carl Klinzmann Jr., of Kansas; one sister, Iola and husband, Pete Pasquille of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at Grace Brethren Church in Beaver City on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Keith Theobald officiating. Inurnment will be in the Wilsonville Cemetery.
Memorials may be left in her name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary to the Grace Brethren Church of Beaver City.
