NORTH PLATTE -- Lloyd V. Rupp, 85, formerly of McCook, died April 30, 2009, at the North Platte Care Centre.

He was born May 13, 1923, to Chris and Emma Heiselman Rupp at Holbrook.

He was raised in Furnas County and served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1946.

On Feb. 27, 1951, he married Janet Leigh Bumsted at Salina, Kan. He was employed as a mechanic and a truck driver for Trimmers Petroleum and Bunstock Oil. They lived in McCook most of their lives. He moved to North Platte in 2004.

He was a member of the American Legion, for more than 63 years, and the Eagles Club for 55 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Gary and wife, Trish Rupp of North Platte; a daughter, Nancy Rupp of Grand Island; a sister, Myrna and husband, Ward Bundy of Beaver City; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at noon, Monday, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery south of Maxwell with Chaplain Terry Cook officiating

Visitation is Saturday and Sunday, 1-7 p.m., at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.
