High school rodeo

Wyatt Clark of Wellfleet (above), a senior at Medicine Valley High School in Curtis, will compete in bareback riding during the Southwest Nebraska High School Rodeo scheduled today, Saturday and Sunday in the Kiplinger Arena on the Red Willow County fairgrounds in the 1500 block of West Fifth, McCook. Cutting horses will compete Friday, starting at 7 p.m. Rodeo events start Saturday at 9 a.m., and Sunday, at 8 a.m. Admission is $5 for adults; children 12 and under will be admitted free. This will be the last spring/summer circuit of high school rodeo competition for Wyatt, the 18-year-old son of Julie and J.R. Clark. Wyatt plans to attend Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyo., where he has received a rodeo scholarship and the President's Academic Scholarship. He will compete in college rodeo in bareback riding and team and tie-down roping.
