Charlotte Elizabeth Rogers died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook at the age of 80.
She was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Red Willow County, the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Meyers) Wilcox. Charlotte grew up on the family farm and attended McCook High School and received her GED from Republican Valley High School in 1975.
On April 21, 1950, Charlotte married Clarence "Bud" Rogers at Oberlin. They made their home in McCook until moving to Indianola in 1969. Charlotte enjoyed crocheting, gardening her flower garden and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Charlotte is survived by four daughters, Sharon Lang of Wichita, Kan., Bonnie Schumaker and husband, Greg of Bartley, Gloria Richman and husband, Steve of Raymond, Neb., June Hall and husband, Bob of Holbrook; five sons, Larry Rogers and wife, Diane of Utica, Neb., Ron Rogers and wife, Jean of McCook, Bill Rogers and wife, Deborah of Bartley, Mark Rogers and wife, Stephanie of McCook and Jon Rogers of McCook; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Gerald Wilcox and wife, Florence of McCook; three sisters, Marie Kuck and husband, Alfred of Smithfield, Neb., Betty Jussel and husband, Bill of Grand Island, Neb., and Doris Ruppert of McCook; and relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
Memorials may be given in her name and visitation will be Saturday from 1 - 9 p.m., Sunday from 1 - 6 p.m., and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
