Elsie O'Dea died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Mother Hull Nursing Home in Kearney at the age of 78.

She was born June 3, 1930, in Red Willow County, the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (Crocker) Wesch. She grew up in Red Willow County and attended McCook High School.

On June 5, 1947, Elsie married Leonard Francis O'Dea and they made their home in McCook. For 21 years she was employed at Safeway Grocery Store.

Elsie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on Jan. 17, 2001, two brothers, Floyd and Lloyd Wesch and one sister, Marilyn Goltl

She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Rooney and husband, Mike of Stratton, Barbara Callan and husband, Rodney of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Teresa Baumgartner and husband, Michael of Kearney; two sons, Patrick O'Dea and wife, Mary of Loveland, Colo., and Daniel O'Dea of Kearney; eight grandchildren; Lisa Rien and husband, Troy, Michelle Leibhart, Shane Rooney, Trisha Martinez and husband, Rob, Angi Riggert, Brian O'Dea and wife, Noelle, Joshua Baumgartner and Andrew Baumgartner; five great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends.

Rosary will be 6 p.m., today, April 21, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Inurnment will be 2 p.m., at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.

Memorials may be given in her name and left at Herrmann Funeral Home.
