TEMPLE, Texas -- Berniece Agnes "Bee" James, loving, devoted and prayerful wife, mother and grandmother went to be with Our Lord on April 14, 2009, at Temple, Texas.
Berniece was born on May 26, 1911, in Beaver City, Neb. Over the 97 years she was on this earth, she lived in McCook, Neb., Temple, Texas and Kerrville, Texas. Berniece was a wonderful role model for her family. She had a joyful and positive outlook in everything she did.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Louis D. James on June 17, 1972, her sister, Marie Williams, her brother, Charles Bratt, her grandson, Christopher Kevin James, and her parents, Warren E. and Agnes (Berry) Bratt.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Moyia and Brian Linden of Madison, Wis., her son, Mike James of Denver, Colo., another son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kay James of Temple, Texas, and daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Gary Garrison of Canyon Lake, Texas. Berniece is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Berniece had a strong Catholic faith and exhibited this through her love and kindness to her family and friends.
Berniece will be laid to rest with her husband, Dr. Louis D. James at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Neb.
She was greatly loved.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
Herrmann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
