HOLDREGE -- Funeral services for Rashanna M. Fulmer will be conducted from the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church north of Holdrege, on Friday, March 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev.Todd Marcy officiating. Following the traditional funeral service, a private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Rashanna Michelle Fulmer, 30 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, as a result of a single motor vehicle accident northwest of Holdrege.
Rashanna was born Feb. 2, 1979, at Lincoln, Neb., and at an early age was adopted by her parents, Steve and Merna (Ruppert) Benson. She received her education at Holdrege, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1997. She then pursued higher education at Central Community College at the Hastings Campus, where she received her Associates Degree in Business Administration.
On Dec. 11, 1999, she was united in marriage to Corey L. Fulmer at Holdrege. To this union two children were born, Cassie and Connor. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Rashanna was employed as an Insurance Agent for the Great Plains Agency.
She was a member of the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church, where she was very involved as the children's church coordinator. She loved boating, skiing and spending time with her family. The center of her life was her children who she referred to as "Mom's Little Angels."
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Corey; two children, Cassie and Connor, both at home in Holdrege; father, Steve Benson and his special friend, Kathy Brown of Culbertson, Neb.; mother, Merna Benson and her fiancÚ, William Lichtenwaldt of McCook; grandfather, David Hall of Texas; one brother, Tyrel Benson and his special friend, Julie Bonar of Culbertson; half-brother, Chris Welsh of California; step-father, Christopher Irwin of California; mother-in-law, Deanna Fulmer of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Scott Fulmer and his special friend, Stacey Johnson of Holdrege; two nephews, Orin Benson and Michael Bonar both of Culbertson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law, Bill Fulmer.
Rashanna will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Thursday, March 26, 2009, from 1 - 8 p.m., with the family greeting from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
