NORTON, Kan., -- Kenneth Charles Price, 85, died Saturday (March 14, 2009) at Norton County Hospital.

He was born May 21, 1923, on a farm in rural Lyle, Kan., to Charlie and Alta (Knutson) Price. He grew up in the Lyle Community and attended College Hill and Norcatur High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.

On June 8, 1943, he married Pansy Wiltfong in Norton, Kan. They lived on a farm near Clayton, Kan., where he was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of the Clayton United Methodist Church and Norton Saddle Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alta Price and two siblings, Russell Price and Minnie Crabill.

Survivors include his wife, Pansy of Norton; son, Freeman Wayne Price and wife, Carrie of Branson, Mo.; daughter, Marlene Wolf and husband, Ronald of Kensington, Kan.; brother, Virgil Price and wife, Joyce of Norcatur, Kan.; sisters, Bula Kelley of Lamar, Colo., and Virginia Britton of Norton; four children; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Clayton United Methodist Church in Clayton with the Rev. Larry Danforth officiating. Interment will be in the Clayton Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Norton County 4-H or Norton Jaycees.
