BARTLEY -- Jean Marie Ellis age 67 of Bartley, Neb., died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on March 7, 2009.

She was born in McCook Aug, 29, 1941, at St. Catherine's Hospital. Jean attended and graduated from Bartley High School in 1959.

Jean was united in marriage to William F. "Bill" Ellis on Jan. 20, 1962 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola. The couple shared 47 years together. To this union three children were born, Sharon Jean, Lori A., and Bill Jr. They spent their entire life farming around Cambridge and Bartley.

Jean was a member of the St. Catherine's Church and the Altar Society, life-member of the Jack Helt VFW Auxiliary, and the Red Willow County Homemakers.

Jean enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing the organ and accordion and especially her grandchildren and family.

Jean was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Jean on Nov. 7, 1963, at birth.

She is survived by her husband Bill of Bartley; daughter, Lori A. Ellis of McCook; son, Bill and wife, Julie Ellis; three grandchildren, Brenton, Kaitlynne and Tyler; special nephew and niece, Tim and Mary Williams; and other nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Tuesday evening March 10, 2009, at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Tom Meguire officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorials may be left in her name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary.
