SELDEN -- Sylvia J. Wachendorfer, 72, died Tuesday (Feb. 10, 2009) at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kan.
She was born June 21,1936, in rural Atwood to Ralph and Eleanor (Kundysek) Urban. She grew up on a farm southeast of Atwood and attended Rawlins County District No. 48.
She married Darell Lamb. She later married Henry Focke, he preceded her in death in 1975.
She married Dennis Wachendorfer. She lived in Atwood and Selden, where she was a homemaker and farm wife.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eleanor Urban; husbands, Henry Focke and Dennis Wachendorfer in 1999; two daughters, Ethel and Jennifer Lamb; three brothers, Bennie, Franklin and Delvin Urban; and one sister, Roberta Urban.
Survivors include her sons, Craig Lamb of Ludell, Kan., Darell Lamb of Leesburg, Va., Charles and wife, Sarah Focke of of Kearney and Chad and wife, Mandy Focke of Selden; step-sons, David Wachendorfer of Roseville, Calif., and Dan and wife, Melissa Wachendorfer of Selden; daughters, Jan and husband, Ken Badsky of Oberlin and Kim and husband, Dennis Franklin of Atwood; step-daughter, Karen Focke of Atwood; brothers, John and wife, Agnes Urban of Colby; sisters, Donna Frandsen of Oberlin and Mary and husband, Harry Depe of Trenton; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Urban of Atwood and Willia Urban of Oberlin; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden with the Rev. Dan Scheetz officiating. Interment will be in the Selden Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m., until time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Selden City Park.
