Virginia J. Hanes

TRENTON -- Virginia J. Hanes, 49, died Sunday (Feb. 8, 2009) at Community Hospital in McCook.

She was born Oct. 10, 1959, at Cambridge, to Boyd and Evelyn (Brown) Wagner. She grew up in Furnas and Red Willow Counties and attended high school at Lebanon.

On July 2, 1998, she married Ed Hanes at Trenton. They owned and operated the Sports Cafe in Trenton.

She was preceded in death by her father, Boyd Wagner and one brother, Ronald Frank.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Hanes of Trenton; two sons, Brian Wagner and wife, Tess and Lucas Kohlmeier, both of Trenton; one daughter, Lynda Redden and husband, Joshua of New York; four step-children, Shawn Hanes and wife, Rami of Stratton., Traci Hanes and Angie Hanes, both of Wayne, Okla., and Brian Hanes and wife, Jamie of Oklahoma City, Okla.; her mother, Evelyn Wagner of Trenton; brothers, Wiley Wagner and wife, JoAnn of Barnard, Mo., Larry Wagner of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Donna McCully and husband, Don of Akron, Iowa and Diana Carlson and husband, Kevin of North Platte; and relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday at the Church of God in Trenton.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
