Florence E. Frakes

TRENTON -- Florence Eva Frakes, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at El Dorado Manor in Trenton at the age of 98.

She was born Oct. 3, 1910, on the family farm in Hitchcock County, the daughter of William and Amy (Perkins) Nealeigh. She grew up in the Cornell Community graduating from Cornell High School.

On Sept. 13, 1936, Florence married Raymond Frakes in the Cornell Community south of Trenton. They farmed in Hitchcock County. From 1942 to 1944, they lived in Portland, Ore. In 1944, they returned to farming in Hitchcock County and Rawlins County, moving to Rawlins County in 1991.

Her husband moved to El Dorado Manor Home in Trenton in 2000 and Florence joined him in 2001.

She was a member of the Church of God.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on Feb. 8, 2003; her parents; brothers, Orval, John, Charlie and Carl Nealeigh; sisters, Blanche Cole, Mary Terrell, Myrtle Cole and Alice Nealeigh; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Frakes.

Florence is survived by two daughters, Rachel Hidy and husband, Wayne of McCook and Geraldine Long and husband, Charles of Topeka, Kan.; two sons, Bernard Frakes of Renton, Wash., and Leland Frakes and wife, Bobbie of Trenton; 10 grandchildren, Paula Baker and husband, Greg, Cindy Cochran and husband, Dwane, Troy Hidy and wife, Carolyn, John Shepard and wife, Jana, Bobbi Jo Koerperich and husband, Bernie, Kip Shepard and wife, Elisa, Michael Frakes and wife, Billie and Tracy, Edward and Theodore Long; three step-grandchildren, Brady Shuler, Blake and wife, Amanda Shuler and Blaine Shuler; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Nealeigh of Hastings; relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be today, Feb. 4, 2009, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Trenton with the Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in the Cornell Cemetery at Trenton.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
