HOLDREGE -- The McCook eighth grade boys basketball teams went 3-0 at Holdrege Thursday. The Bison won the A, B and C team games.

Sean Baker and Austin Cherry teamed up with 9 points each and Matt Collicott had 8 for the Bison A team. The A team is 3-0.

"The team played hard and smart to win this game," said Bison coach Bill Ramsay. "We executed our break and offense pretty well and had some great looks at the basket but just could not get the ball to fall.

The kids did a great job of keeping their composure down the stretch when the game became very physical. Defensively we need to do a better job of checking out and hitting our free throws down the stretch. We will get back to practice and keep working on the fundamentals of the game."

Luke Post put in 15 points for the Bison C team. Jacob Rileman had 6 and both Austin Lambing and Zayne Gillen had 4. The C team is also 3-0 this season.

"The players did a great job of being aggressive," Ramsay said. "Players played good defense and ran the floor very well. Our secondary fast break created some easy scoring opportunities throughout the game. Our guards did a great job of entering the ball to the post players for some nice looks at the basket."

Cameron Burkey had 7 points for the Bison in the C game and Justin Miller had 5.

"The C team got their first victory of the year," Ramsay said. "The team was much more aggressive on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor."

The Bison C team is 1-2.
