CAMBRIDGE -- Marilyn U. Lowry, 76, formerly of Cambridge, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 2009) at her home in Hastings,
She was born in Arkansas City, Kan., on Oct. 29, 1932, to Archie C. and Elsie Lorine (Musson) McGee. She attended and graduated from Wellington, Kan., High School in 1950.
She married Donald Jack Lowry on June 7, 1952, at the First Christian Church in Wellington. They lived in Pratt, Wakeeney, Eldorado, Kan., and Ponca City, Okla., before making their home in Cambridge in 1960. The family moved to Hastings to be close to family in 2008.
She was a member of the Red Hatter's, Research Club and Coffee Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Darrel McGee.
Survivors include her husband, Jack of Hastings; two daughters, Jan of Hastings and JoLee and husband, Kendal Max of Juanita; son, Jim and wife, LaRee of Juniata; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Tim Burke officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Kan., on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Visitation will be in Wellington at Frank Funeral Home from 9 - 11 a.m., on Thursday. Friends may call at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary today until 9 p.m.
Memorial may be left at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in her name to the church in Cambridge.
