Melissa and Cody Monzon

Melissa Godfrey of North Platte and Cody Monzon of Blair were united in marriage Aug. 8, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating.

Parents of the couple are Craig and Kathy Godfrey of North Platte and Scott and Terri Monzon of Blair.

Great-grandparents of the bride are Ronda Godfrey and Bernie and Janet Hebblethwaite, all of North Platte. Bonnie Monzon and the late Pete Monzon of McCook and Larry and Phyllis Theiler of Paxton are grandparents of the bridegroom.

Ashley Mertens of North Platte was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Coulter of North Platte, Jessica Ripple, cousin of the bride, of North Platte, Laura Steinke of Grand Island and Madison Monzon, sister of the bridegroom, of Blair.

Vincent Scott of North Platte served as bestman. Bridegroomsmen were Collin Monzon, brother of the bridegroom, of Blair, David McIntosh of Blair, David Hoer of Blair and Justin Ele of McCook.

Hayley Hebblethwaite, cousin of the bride, of Paxton was the flower girl and Jacob Godfrey, brother of the bride, of North Platte was ring bearer.

Ushers were Joseph Godfrey, brother of the bride, of North Platte, Brian Kouba of North Platte and Grady Erickson of Grand Island.

A reception was at the Knights of Columbus Hall in McCook. Leann Serrano of North Platte was the guestbook attendant.

The bride is a senior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is employed by Hobby Lobby in Kearney.

The bridegroom is employed as a CNC machinist and welder at Grayson Tool Company in Minden

After a honeymoon in Orlando, Fla., the couple is making their home in Minden.
