WAUNETA -- Ila Pearl (Hiatt) Walcott, 78, of Wauneta, died Wednesday (Jan. 7, 2009) at Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial.

She was born March 26, 1930, to Ned and Mae (Kimble) Hiatt in Champion. She attended grade school in Champion and graduated from Chase County High School in 1947.

She married Robert Evon Walcott on Nov. 21, 1947, in St. Francis. The lived in Imperial for several years before moving to Wauneta, where she worked as a Nurse's Aide. She was employed with the Heritage of Wauneta Nursing Home for 35 years. She was a life long resident of Wauneta until her recent move to Pines Groves Retirement Community in Imperial.

She was a member of the Tops and Red Hats Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 2004; son, John; and grandsons, Joshua Jones and Justin Cerisler.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Fricke and husband, Glen of Ogallala, Shirley Jones of North Platte, Carolyn Gerard of Kearney and Jody Robertus of North Platte; son, Buck Walcott and wife, Mary of Lexington; sisters, Ruth Pillard and husband, Clair of Haxtun, Colo., and June Dudden and husband, Darrel of Hillrose, Colo.; brother, Robert Hiatt and wife, Darlene of Junction City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. (MT) at United Methodist Church in Wauneta with the Rev. Judy Dye officiating. Interment will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at 2 p.m. (MT).

There is no public visitation.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
