Beverly June Bickham 87, of McCook, passed away Jan. 5, 2009, at Atchison Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster Kan.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church Thursday night meals, McCook and St. John's Chapter No. 16 of McCook and may be left in care of the funeral home.

June was born June 28, 1921, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Peer and Garnett (Hall) Littles. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1943, with a Bachelor of Science degree and advanced studies in education. She was a teacher for 43 years and in four states, Iowa, Georgia, Missouri and Nebraska.

June was a member of the United Methodist Church in McCook and taught bells and choir at the church. Mrs. Bickham was worthy matron of the order of Eastern Star and a past president of the Chapter FA of PEO, also a member of the Past Matrons Club. June was the president of Delta Kappa Gamma a teaching honorary and secretary-treasurer of Shrine.

Beverly June Littles married Donald Oren Bickham on Nov. 25, 1945. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2006.

June is survived by adopted family members, Bette Locke of Everest, Kan., Daniel and Ellen Locke of Newton, Kan., Duncan and Shelley Locke of Raymond, Neb., Dwight and Sharon Locke of Atchison, Kan., Lura and William Flentie of Lincoln, Neb., and Angela and Devin Locke, of Topeka, Kan..

June was also preceded in death by her parents, an adopted brother, J.D. Locke, an adopted nephew, Delross Locke, and an adopted niece, Dorothy Elizabeth Locke.
