IMPERIAL -- Wanda Lorine Larson, 94, died Saturday (Jan. 3, 2009) at Imperial Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 19, 1914, to Eilert and Anna (Buss) Ackerman in Gothenburg. She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School.

She married Wilbur L. Larson on Dec. 16, 1935, in Norton, Kan. and they settled in Gothenburg. In 1954, they bought the Ford dealership in Wauneta and later moved the dealership to Imperial in 1969. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Larson Motors and several other businesses.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Choir and the Chase County Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eilert and Ann Ackerman; husband, Wilbur; eight brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Joet Haarberg.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Larson and wife, Virginia of Summerfield, Fla., and Al Larson and wife, Susan of Wichita, Kan.; daughter, Kay Haarberg and husband, Gene of Imperial; sister-in-law, Marge Larson of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. (MT) at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial with the Rev. David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.

Visitation is today from 2-6 p.m., (MT) at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial.

A memorial has been established in her memory to Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial.
