Alberts, Applegarth wedding

WAUNETA -- Staci Alberts and Matthew Applegarth of Palisade were united in marriage June 7, 2008, in the United Methodist Church in Wauneta with the Rev. Judith Dye officiating.

Parents of the couple are Deb Rathe and Kurt and Janet Applegarth, all of Palisade.

Grandparents of the bride are Leola Alberts of Palisade and Ken and Sherri Freadhoff of Las Cruces, N.M. Paul and Donna Applegarth of Palisade and Guy and Melba Fries of Benkleman are grandparents of the bridegroom.

Kiane Alberts, sister of the bride, of Palisade, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kaleia Alberts,and Cassidy Rathe, both sisters of the bride and both of Palisade.

Shane Gerhartz of Palisade served as the bestman. Bridegroomsmen were Ryan McCrumb of Wauneta and Andy Phillips of Longmont, Colo.

Halle Bardsley, cousin of the bridegroom, of Wauneta was the flower girl and Garrett Sharp, cousin of the bridegroom, of Greeley, Colo., was the ring bearer.

Candlelighters were Autumn Alberts, and Sasauna Alberts, both cousins of the bride and of Palisade.

Steve Applegarth, the bridegroom's uncle, of Greeley, Colo., Kelly Doetker, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Palisade, Allen Abbott, cousin of the bridegroom, of Brady and Donovan Sharp, cousin of the bridegroom, of Greeley, were ushers.

Diana Ham, of Wauneta was the organist and Dawn Doetker of Palisade was the soloist.

A reception was at the American Legion Hall in Wauneta.

Guestbook attendants were Janel Sharp of Greeley and Jyl Abbott of Brady. Kenny and Diana Ham of Wauneta were the host couple.

The bride will be a December 2009 graduate of Chadron State College with a Bachelor of Science in Education with Field Endorsement in Secondary Mathematics. She is employed at McCook High School.

The bridegroom is a May 2005 graduate of Northwest Kansas Technical College, Associate of Arts with emphasis in diesel technology. He is employed on the family farm.

The couple will make their home in Palisade.
