LOVELAND, Colo. -- Evelyn R. Mercer, 81, of Loveland, Colo. died Dec. 29, 2008, at McKee Medical Center.
She was born March 4, 1927 in Curtis to Carl and Katie (Jensen) Olsson.
She married K. Kelly Mercer in 1946 in Oberlin. She and her husband were both graduates of the University of Nebraska High School of Agriculture in Curtis. She raised her family in Curtis and in 1956, became the bookkeeper for the Curtis Co-op and other businesses in the Curtis area.
They moved to the Denver, Colo., area in 1973. While living in Denver she worked as bookkeeper for Lighting Plus and Carpet Van in Boulder until retiring in 2001.
Survivors include her three sons, Kenneth L. and wife, Glenda Mercer of Carrollton, Texas and Dale Mercer and Douglas and wife, Roxane Mercer, all of Loveland; sister, Eleanor and husband, Eldon Nickerson of Longmont, Colo.; brother, Gary and wife, Cheri Olsson of Denver; brothers-in-law, Gerald and wife, Elfrieda Mercer of Dallas, Texas and Bob and wife, Mary Ann Mercer of Curtis; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Olsson of St. Joseph, Mo., and Vernelle Schultz of Curtis; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial reception was today, Jan. 2, 2009, at Loveland V.F.W. Hall.
