Jennifer Louise Vaughn

HOLDREGE -- Jennifer Louise Vaughn, 54, died Sunday (Dec. 21, 2008) at her home in Holdrege.

She was born March 20, 1954, at McCook to Kenneth and Helen (Kennedy) Vaughn. She received her primary education at District No. 41 in Red Willow County, north of McCook. She then attended Trenton Public Schools and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1972.

She then pursued higher education to receive her certification to be a Certified Nursing and Medical Aide, a field that she was employed in for many years. Most recently she had been employed by Christian Homes in Holdrege and at the time of her passing she was working part-time at the Holdrege Daily Citizen in Circulation.

She was involved with the Lone Star 4-H Club and volunteered with her sons' activities.

She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Thomas and Kenny Vaughn.

Survivors include her sons, Shawn Cosgrove and Jeremiah Cosgrove, both of Holdrege; her mother, Helen Vaughn of Omaha; four sisters, Kathleen Vaughn of Sterling, Colo., Susan Reents and husband, Bill of Omaha, Nancy Danley of Lincoln and Barbara and husband, Rick "Pokey" Green of Holdrege; one brother, Kevin Vaughn of Roosevelt, Wash.; sister-in-law, Kathy Vaughn of Iliff, Colo.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday, 3 p.m., at Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege with the Rev. Thomas Lux officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Fruita, Colo.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring her wish for cremation.
