INDIANOLA -- Goldie Agnes (Edmonds) Randolph of Indianola, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. She was 86 years old.

Goldie was born on May 5, 1922, in Greentop, Mo., to Grace Estella (McBrien) and Emmett Earl Edmonds. Her family moved from Greentop to Red Cloud in 1926, and then moved to Hendley in 1929.

She married Ivan Edgar Randolph on Aug. 24, 1940, in Norton, Kan. They made their home in Indianola for most of their married life. She was a busy homemaker and worked in the kitchen at McCook Elks Club from the late 1960s to late 1970s. Although she was not able to graduate from high school due to family finances during the Great Depression, in 1980, she proudly earned her GED at McCook Community College when she was 58 years old.

She was a lifetime Methodist, member of the Indianola Methodist Church and Methodist Women since 1964. She spent her days working crossword puzzles and enjoying the many books she read daily.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Ivan Randolph in 1980; her parents, Grace and Emmett Edmonds; one brother, James Franklin Edmonds; one daughter, Alice Marie Smith; one grandson, Jesse Randolph; and one granddaughter, Traci Slater.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda and partner, Julie Krueger and Lillian and husband, Gene Blackman, all of Grand Junction, Colo.; three sons, Glenn Randolph and Lynn Randolph and wife, Rhonda, all of McCook and Larry Randolph and wife, Nancy of Indianola; two sisters, Lillian Hunter of Statesville, N.C., and Ellen and husband, Pete Alloway of Dacona, Colo.; one brother, Clayton Edmonds of Greeley, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, 10 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will be in the Indianola Cemetery.
