Tamara "Tammy" Jo Tophane was born Sept. 18, 1973, at Omaha, Neb., and passed away Dec. 15, 2008, at Community Hospital in McCook at the age of 35.
She and her brother Michael, were adopted by Ronald and Marilyn (Bryan) Tophane. Tammy grew up in Culbertson, Neb., where she attended elementary school.
Tammy was active in the McCook Christian Church and was baptized at a young age. She participated in softball, 4-H and Girl Scouts while living in Culbertson.
Tammy attended junior high and high school in North Platte, Neb., and graduated from Mount Zion Christian High School. Tammy attended Mid-Plains Community College at North Platte and worked as a nursing assistant and in telemarketing
Tammy is survived by her sons, Charles Ray Tophane and Brycen Ray Tophane of North Platte; her parents, Ronald and Marilyn Tophane of North Platte; her brother, Michael Tophane of Lincoln; her grandmother, Merle Rowland of McCook; and her fiance, James Woodill of McCook; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dale Heimer officiating. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be 11 a.m., Monday in Riverview Cemetery in McCook.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
