OBERLIN -- Wallace "Wally" Jensen, 76, died Sunday (Dec. 14, 2008) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Chris Walter and Erma (Morton) Jensen. He grew up in Fort Collins, Colo. He entered the U.S. Army and served from 1950-1953.
On April 12, 1951, he married Alma Tuxhorn in Phillipsburg, Kan. They lived in Phillipsburg, Wichita, Colby, Goodland and Agra, Kan. They moved to Oberlin in 1961. He was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma in 1993; four brothers, Ray, Larry, Robert and Frankie; grandson, Casey Overmiller; two brothers-in-law, Albert and Edward Tuxhorn; and two sisters-in-law, Velma Day and Alberta Tuxhorn.
Survivors include his son, Mike and wife, Janeil Jensen of Oberlin; daughter, Deborah and husband, Gene Overmiller of Goodland; brothers, Walter and wife, Betty of Oberlin and Jerry and wife, Barb of Garnett; two brothers-in-law, Ivan and wife, Jeanette Tuxhorn of Loveland, Colo., and Johnnie and wife, Neomi of Tuxhorn of McPherson, Kan.; two sisters-in-law, Selma Crown of Kent, Wash., and Doris Tuxhorn of Smith Center, Kan.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m., until time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Heart Association.
